1. Scope of this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how AutoDetailByJeet Limited, trading as Auto Detail by Jeet, collects, holds, uses and shares personal information when you visit our website, request a quote, make a booking, communicate with us or receive vehicle-care services.

We handle personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and other applicable law.

2. Information we may collect

• Your name, email address, phone number and preferred contact method.
• Vehicle details, registration details, service history, condition notes and photographs you provide.
• Quote requests, bookings, invoices, payment status and transaction records.
• Messages, complaints, feedback, reviews and other correspondence.
• Website information such as IP address, browser, device, approximate location, pages viewed and cookie data.
• Photographs or videos taken for condition records, quality control, insurance or dispute resolution.

Please do not send us information that is not reasonably necessary for your enquiry or booking.

3. Why we collect and use information

• To respond to enquiries and prepare vehicle-specific quotes.
• To schedule, perform, document and follow up vehicle-care services.
• To process payments, issue invoices and maintain business records.
• To provide aftercare information and service communications.
• To improve our website, services, security and customer experience.
• To manage complaints, insurance matters, legal claims and fraud prevention.
• To send marketing only where permitted and to honour unsubscribe requests.

4. Vehicle photographs and marketing

We may photograph a vehicle before, during or after a service to record existing condition, document work, support quality control or respond to an insurance or customer query.

We will not intentionally publish identifiable customer information, registration plates or personal belongings for marketing without consent. We may use de-identified vehicle images where the owner cannot reasonably be identified, unless you ask us not to.

5. When information may be shared

We may share information only where reasonably necessary with service providers such as website hosting, email, payment, accounting, IT, analytics, insurers, professional advisers, suppliers or dealership partners connected with the booking.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect people or property, to investigate suspected fraud, or to establish, exercise or defend legal rights.

Some providers may store or process information outside New Zealand. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps appropriate to the service and the information involved.

6. Storage, security and retention

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to reduce the risk of loss, misuse, unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure.

Information is retained only for as long as reasonably required for the purpose it was collected, to provide ongoing service, resolve disputes, maintain financial records or meet legal obligations.

If a privacy breach creates a risk of serious harm, we will respond and make notifications where required by the Privacy Act 2020.

7. Access and correction rights

You may ask for access to personal information we hold about you or ask us to correct information that is inaccurate. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

Legal exceptions may apply. If we decline a request, we will explain the reason where required.

8. Marketing messages

We may send service updates or commercial electronic messages where we have consent or another lawful basis to do so. Marketing messages will identify the sender and include a functional unsubscribe option where required.

Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent us from sending necessary booking, payment, safety or service communications.
